I work with women who’ve experienced emotional or psychological trauma.
I work with survivors of sexual trauma and early childhood abuse.
Women experiencing PTSD or Complex PTSD.
I can also work with panic attacks, OCD, phobias, depression and low-self esteem/low confidence and relational difficulties.
I work with women who are willing to do the work, committed to change and ready to reclaim their lives from trauma.
-
No. You do not need an official diagnosis of PTSD or Complex PTSD. Just a good sense that trauma is impacting on your life and the things that matter to you and a readiness to work through it.

The first time we meet will be for an assessment session. At this meeting, we'll discuss the difficulties that have brought you to seek help. You'll be able to tell me about what you're looking for in therapy, and I'll tell you about how I work. If at the end of the assessment we both feel there is a good fit, we can arrange an initial therapy session.
If I feel I am not the right person to help you, perhaps because an alternative therapeutic approach is likely to be more helpful, I will tell you this. I will then direct you to a therapist or organisation that I believe will be able to help you.

I offer two lengths of session, 60 minutes and 90 minutes.
60 minutes is my standard weekly session length.
The 90 minute session can be used when we have a specific experiential session planned that might need more time. For example, behavioural experiments in the community, trauma site visits, laying lifelines, reading back the narrative in NET
The amount of sessions needed depends on the difficulties you are trying to address and resolve. Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Narrative Exposure Therapy (NET), Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) are often short to medium term (up to 24 sessions). Short-term therapy is generally effective in resolving a specific crisis or a problem.
Schema therapy is often longer (6 months +) when working on adapting established patterns of thinking, feeling, behaving and relating.
When we meet for assessment, I'll tell you about how long a treatment I believe you're likely to need so that you can make an informed decision about whether to go ahead.

I prioritise face to face work as I believe this allows for greater presence and safety when working with trauma.
I work out of central London practice rooms, a short walk from King’s Cross, but I can also book practice rooms in other areas of central London, so if you have a preferred location in mind we can discuss this.
There also might be times in the therapy process where we work outside of a therapy room. For example, in a session that prioritises reclaiming life. This might be a specific behavioural experiment in the community or trauma site visit. However, it would be planned beforehand.
I also offer sessions online for clients who are travelling, international or find it difficult to come in person.

Therapy sessions are charged at £125 for a 60 minute session
£185 for a 90 minute session (this would usually be a pre-planned session that needs more time, e.g. home visits or sessions in the community).
I also offer packages of 10 or 20 sessions with a small saving from the standard rate. Prepaying makes scheduling easier and ensures your preferred times.
10x 1hr sessions: £1100 (£110 per session)
20x 1hr sessions: £2200 (£110 per session)
I work with a number of different health insurance companies. If you would like to fund your treatment via insurance, get in touch and we can talk about how to arrange this.
-
Payment for your therapy session is required by the end of each session and can be made by card, cash or bank transfer.
If your health company is paying for your treatment they will provide you with the information you require at the start of your course of therapy.
-
48 hours (2 days) notice is required if you need to cancel an appointment. It is my policy to charge for any missed appointments. Cancellations without appropriate notice, that being less than 48 hours, will be charged at half the cost of the session £60.
